How to save at Amazon
Amazon rarely runs a sitewide sale, so the savings live in the details of a listing rather than a banner. Three things move the price you actually pay.
Clip-on coupons. Many listings carry a small "Apply $X coupon" or "Save 10%" checkbox just under the price. It is easy to miss and it is applied at checkout, not on the product page, so tick it before you add to cart. Coupons are per listing and usually per customer, once.
Subscribe & Save. For consumables (razors, coffee, pet food, supplements) the subscription price is typically 5% below the one-off price, rising to 15% when five or more subscriptions arrive in the same month. You can cancel after the first delivery without penalty, which makes it a straightforward one-off discount if you would rather not subscribe.
Lightning Deals and Deal of the Day. Time-limited and stock-limited; the price shown is the deal price, and the listing reverts when the timer or the allocation runs out. Prime Day and the October Prime Big Deal Days are when these are thickest.
Warehouse and Renewed. Amazon Warehouse sells returned and open-box items, graded by condition, with the standard return window. Amazon Renewed is refurbished stock backed by the Renewed Guarantee. Both are where the largest discounts on electronics tend to sit outside sale events.
Promo codes in the classic sense are rare on Amazon. The codes that circulate are almost always for a single seller's listing, so check that the product you are buying is sold by the seller the code belongs to. Amazon is not part of the Takeads network; our Amazon links use Amazon Associates.
Amazon questions
- Does Amazon accept promo codes?
Yes, but most codes are issued by individual sellers for their own listings, not by Amazon for the whole site. Enter a code in the "Gift cards & promotional codes" box at checkout; it only applies if the item in your order matches the seller and product the code was issued for.
- Where is the coupon on an Amazon product page?
Directly under the price, as a checkbox reading "Apply $X coupon" or "Save X%". Tick it before adding to cart. The discount shows on the order summary at checkout, not on the product page price.
- Do Amazon deals stack with Subscribe & Save?
Usually yes. A clip-on coupon and the Subscribe & Save discount can both apply to the same item; a Lightning Deal price generally cannot be combined with a coupon on the same listing.
- Is Amazon Warehouse a good deal?
Often. Items are returns or open-box stock graded by condition, sold with Amazon's normal return window. Read the condition note: "Like New" and "Very Good" are usually indistinguishable from new in use.
- Why don't NXT.Deals Amazon links go through Takeads?
Amazon is not in the Takeads network. Our Amazon links use the Amazon Associates programme instead, which is disclosed on every page and does not change your price.

About Amazon
Amazon sells almost every category of product, both directly and through third-party marketplace sellers. Prices on the same listing can change several times a day, and "Subscribe & Save", coupons shown on the product page ("clip coupon") and Lightning Deals stack in ways that are not always obvious.
Links to Amazon on this site use the Amazon Associates programme. Amazon is not part of the Takeads network.
